Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease an 8x8-inch baking dish or an 8-inch oven-safe skillet.

In a medium bowl, mix together the refried beans, sour cream, green chiles, and 1 teaspoon of taco seasoning.

Taste it and add more taco seasoning or salt if you like. If your beans and seasoning are unsalted, you might want to add about half a teaspoon of salt.

 Put the bean mixture into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly. Sprinkle cheese on top, leaving some of the bean mixture visible around the edges.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the cheese is melted and the dip is bubbling.
