White Cheddar Shepherds Pie Recipe

1 pound (450g) ground lamb or beef 1 onion, finely chopped 2 carrots, diced 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 tablespoons tomato paste 1 cup frozen peas 1 cup beef or vegetable broth 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon dried thyme Salt and black pepper to taste

Ingredients

Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Brown the ground lamb or beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat if needed.

Add finely chopped onion, diced carrots, and minced garlic. Cook until the vegetables are softened.

Incorporate tomato paste, frozen peas, beef or vegetable broth, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.

In a separate pot, prepare mashed potatoes. Combine mashed potatoes with milk, butter, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.
